President Barack Obama signs the historic health insurance reform bill Washington DC

The Complete List of Obama Statement Expiration Dates  provided by Jim Geraghty at NRO.

Here are some highlights:

STATEMENT: “These negotiations will be on C-SPAN, and so the public will be part of the conversation and will see the decisions that are being made.” January 20, 2008, and seven other times.

EXPIRATION DATE: Throughout the summer, fall, and winter of 2009 and 2010; when John McCain asked about it during the health care summit February 26, Obama dismissed the issue by declaring, “the campaign is over, John.”

STATEMENT: “No family making less than $250,000 will see any form of tax increase.” (multiple times on the campaign trail)

EXPIRATION DATE: Broken multiple times, including the raised taxes on tobacco, a new tax on indoor tanning salons, but most prominently on February 11, 2010: “President Barack Obama said he is “agnostic” about raising taxes on households making less than $250,000 as part of a broad effort to rein in the budget deficit.”

It is rather lenghty, but well worth a read.  Here is to “The One” who says one thing and does another.  Very typical of Washington and all that dwell there, but I think Obama and his people take it to another level.

I wondered why these companies had not spoken out sooner, when it could have done some good. I suppose this is the answer: they know how vindictive the Democrats are. The Democrats’ reaction would have been even more hostile (and more dangerous to the companies’ well-being) if they had dared to blow the whistle on Obamacare before Congress voted.

That’s right, ladies!  Lucky you!  You get to pay 2.3% more for your lady stuff. But fear not!  In our wonderful politically-correct world, fellas will have to pay more for their fella stuff…    I guess that means “condoms”, but I dunno.

Hey – you know what else will cost you an extra 2.3%?  Everything!

Band-aids? 2.3%.
Canes? 2.3%.
Compression stockings for diabetics? 2.3%.
Pill sorters? 2.3%.
ACE Bandages?  2.3%
Breast pumps for pumping milk for babies? 2.3%
Dentures, both partial and full 2.3%
Fetal cell-screening kit 2.3%
Female condoms, single use 2.3% (cuz girls can buy condoms, too!)
Treponemal syphilis test 2.3%
HIV saliva test kit 2.3%
Stair-climbing wheelchair 2.3%
Inflatable penis prosthetics 2.3% (do people actually buy these?)
Hip, knee, ankle, breast prosthetics 2.3%
IUDs 2.3%
Dialysis catheters 2.3%
Sickle-cell anemia tests 2.3%
Mammograms 2.3%

How’s that for a “tax on the rich”?  I sure am glad they covered pre-existing conditions for kids to make up for this stupidity…

Wait a minute…   seriously?  They forgot it?  Well, surely there aren’t other taxes  buried in there

Wait a minute…  there are?  Well…   I guess I’d oppose it, but apparently, people who oppose government healthcare are terrorists.

President Obama Signs Health Care Reform Bill

“Hours after President Barack Obama signed historic health care legislation, a potential problem emerged. Administration officials are now scrambling to fix a gap in highly touted benefits for children.”

Here are a couple of articles that explain the dilemma.  As the comments over at Hot Air suggest, this is just another sign of incompetence for the Obama Administration.

Charles Schumer

“The president said the number one issue before us is jobs in 2010, and we couldn’t agree more, in fact the three top issues on our agenda are jobs, jobs and jobs”

The video below is under 2 minutes.  Take the time and watch it.  I can only assume by jobs the Democrats meant Health Care Reform.  The two terms are apparently synonymous.  I’m sure the focus will return to jobs after he is done with his “victory lap”, which is more likely to turn into an attempt to try and sell the already passed Health Care bill.  It is a little sad that there is a need to convince the public how great the bill is after it is passed.  There is a thought shared among the administration and Americans that support the bill that the public is misinformed about the bill.  I have heard it over and over.  Rest assured, those of us who are upset and that do not support the bill are not misinformed.  I have no doubt that the Presidents 51st , or 52nd  ”why we need to love this bill” speech in Iowa will do little to change the opposed minds.  It will however regurgitate the same talking points Obama has been using for the past year to feed the lemmings that so faithfully , blindly follow every word he utters.

Here is another 2 minute video with Obama telling  lying to us:

“The Public Will Have 5 Days To Look At Every Bill That Lands On My Desk”

Sure we will.  Anything else you want us to drink up???  The sweet drink is so easy for some to swallow.

I would like to take a moment to Honor all the Republicans that voted No for Obama Care Sunday in the House of Representatives. I would also like to honor the Democrats that voted no for Obama Care as well. It’s not often we get to Honor Democrats on this site but regardless of the reason, the following Dems voted No for Obama Care and at least this Health Care monstrosity should not be held against them this November, despite the fact, of course they being Democrats.

Commerce Secretary, NY Mayor Bloomberg Launch 2010 U.S. Census

Step 1:  A super bowl ad for $2.5 million

Step 2:  A letter from the U.S. Census Bureau stating that in a few weeks I will be receiving the Census questionnaire to fill out.

Step 3:  The actual Census questionnaire is delivered.

Step 4:  A post card from the Census Bureau letting me know that I should have received a request to participate in the 2010 Census.  Here is the charm:  “if you have already provided your census information, please accept our sincere thanks.”

Now, I am as forgetful as the next person.  That being said, with the $2.5 million spent on the commercial, and the postage paid for three separate mailings by our government, is it financially responsible?  Of course it isn’t.  Everything to my knowledge was mailed first class postage.  That is 28 cents for the post card and 44 cents for the “just letting you know it’s coming”  letter.  I believe the census is sent  to 120 million homes/families.  That is over $8.5 million not including the Census form or all of the temporary hires.

Is this a Liberal thing?  No, it’s a government thing.  I have no doubt that the same circumstances would have followed if McCain would have been President.

Chalk this up to example number 1,365 why the government has a really really really hard time spending money wisely.  Is it any wonder why so many are leery of all the money related promises of the Health Care bill:  Premiums will go down, it will lower the deficit, it will improve the economy?  I guess we will have to wait and see, we’ll know soon enough.  After all, this administration is truly remarkable.  The Obama administration is unlike any other, everything they say is the truth and they do not lie.  They are not spending more in their first year than any other president.  Obama has shown through example that he and his administration will be financially responsible.  We have no reason to doubt any of the claims being made.   O wait, never mind.

“You’ve got to stand for something”

“You’ve got to stand for something, or you’ll fall for anything.  You’ve got to be your own man not a puppet on a string.  Never compromise whats right.”  “What ever you do today, you’ll have to live with tonight.”

“I got it honest”

If you’ll check out my paycheck
Well, you’ll see that there ain’t that much on it
But ev’ry single penny I’m paid, I got it honest
I never had to hang my head in shame
For puttin’ a price tag on my name
Never turned my back on what I believe
Or let my heart be ruled by greed
‘Cause buddy if I didn’t earn it, I don’t want it
That way I can always say, I got it honest”

I’ll let the above words speak mostly for themselves.  I am not implying that sometimes people don’t need help.  But, the mentality that is creeping into people that the government is going to take care of all your problems is a dangerous thing to let take hold of you.  There is something to be said about working for what you have and teaching this to your kids.  There is a lot less of holding to your beliefs and values in Washington, especially if the deal is good.

The Democrat-led House, in a move that was as shocking as discovering that the sun comes up in the morning, approved the unconstitutional, socialistic takeover of 1/6 of the United States economy.  Apparently, they believed that the free market was too full of dumb people who had the audacity to believe their money should be controlled by them, and so they moved to address that issue with a rapidity that would make a snail’s head spin about 5 degrees to the left.  I mean, it only took them 100 years to match the Soviet Union in health quality.

But the battle isn’t done, kids…  there’s one more house of legislature to go through where the “supermajority” that evaporated in February, where those evil Republicans are likely to throw up annoying questions like “how in the hell are we going to pay for this?”, “where is this in the Constitution”, and “You Lie” – or this month’s equivalent, “Hell, no, you can’t.”

And after that…  if it gets to Der Kommisar’s desk…  there’s a court system full of attorneys ready to point out little things like “it’s not in the constitution”.

Better yet, there’s 300,000,000 Americans – 54% of whom think this is a boneheaded idea, ready to vote the bastards to the curb.

It ain’t over yet.  Don’t be discouraged…  be angry….  be vigilant…  be ready.

…but frankly, it’s just too much fun watching the hilarity in Washington right now.

Make no mistakes: this battle is not about health care, health insurance, or anything else related to your body’s well-being.  This is a battle over government control, or as a liberal put it when he argued with me a few months ago, “how much freedom is too much freedom?”

See – to a conservative, freedom is the basis of our nation.  It’s what our country was built on and why our forefathers, flawed human beings that they were, decided to give King Georgie Three the heave-ho.  Yes, there are aspects of behavior that have good or bad social effects, some of which are so serious that they require imprisonment or death for committing them – usually because your free act has deliberately and maliciously taken away the freedom of others.

But to a liberal, freedom is an evil.  It’s something that proceeds from the graces of the government and can – and occasionally, should be taken away at the whim of political winds (so long as those winds blow left).  Over the past 2 years, I’ve asked liberals repeatedly: when it comes to paying for health care / GM / bailouts / etc. – whose money is it?  Is it the government’s or is it mine?  Consistently, they refuse to answer this basic question because, deep in their blackened little pea-pickin’ hearts, they know that they think that the money belongs to “everyone” (aka “the government”).  That’s why they have no problem raising taxes on “the rich”…  because, obviously, it’s not their money, is it?  It’s OK to take away their money, so long as it’s for the “public good”.

If I used that logic to steal someone’s TV from their house, I’d be tossed in the pokey – and rightfully so.

Keep an eye out…  keep active.  This battle is not done.  The minute the House passes Obamacare (and they will), it goes to the Senate, where the Democrats will hopefully learn the REAL meaning of “The Party of No” when we throw up every single last obstruction in their way, when we start up filibusters they can no longer break, and when even Moderate Senate Republicans work to make the lives of Senate Democrats utter hell.

And even if Obamacare survives this…   even if they succeed in their latest goofs about “deeming the bill passed” and “hiding the bill”…  and even if it gets signed by the capitulating, drunken, communist, spendaholic, job-destroying joke of a President…   we’ll sue.  The court system that liberals used for decades to reinterpret rights into existence (I’m still looking for “abortion” in the Constitution) will be used to throw up roadblocks…

The battle will continue.  Our freedom is not for sale, even for the price of our “health”.
