Nancy Pelosi Holds Her Weekly Press Conference
We don’t know when she’ll be back again.  She’s been checked out a long time.  Nancy Pelosi’s cost to all of us for the last two years of using Military Jets to travel:

Just a measly $2,100,744.59.  $101,429.14 was for inflight expenses.

“Speaker Pelosi has a history of wasting taxpayer funds with her boorish demands for military travel. And these documents suggest the Speaker’s congressional delegations are more about partying than anything else,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.

I know that flying around on a Military Jet isn’t exclusive to Nancy Pelosi, but, the article is.  Maybe she should refrain from embarking on some of her “trips”( each domestic one at around  $28,210.51), and save the US tax payers some money.  Or, umm,  I mean then the money could be allocated some where else, we certainly wouldn’t save the tax payers any money and not spend it.  If she is so concerned about re-distributing our money to people who sit around and leach off the government (excluding people who truly need help of course) and all the entitlement programs, each trip she forgoes would allow another 28K that she could use to re-distribute.  Not that I agree with re-distribution, but I’m just saying.  Does she know how many Polar Bears she could save by taking one less flight?

100K for inflight expenses?  I think a little less Bailey’s, and a pack of Old Milwaukee would shave this number down.  I know flying is expensive, but in two years?  These expenses are over the top and mind numbing.  Millions, billions, and even trillions get thrown around in politics a lot.  Maybe 2 million isn’t enough to anger americans, at least not with the amount that the current administration has already spent in its first year.

It’s interesting how many people are commenting on the Big O’s speech. I especially liked the Republican Response. Alot of people like how Presidential Bob McDonnell looked. Kind of refreshing to have a speech that makes common sense.

Oh, I mean the Union. And it’s coming up tomorrow, the same day that Apple releases it’s I-Tablet. I think I will be more excited about what Apple is rolling out that will stimulate the economy more than what The Big O will ever do. It’s his first State of The Union speech, so we can expect to hear a few things from him:

1. Jobs & Economy. He is going talk about creating jobs. How many jobs that the old stimulus bill supposedly created. You know, those jobs like those that pave roads, and once those roads are done, and the money is spent, those jobs that don’t exist anymore but O will claim credit for. He will probably talk about another stimulus bill. And if that doesn’t work, maybe another. Japan rolled out around 9 stimulus bills, and they didn’t do anything to help their economy, why should it help ours? And while all this big government spending is being rolled out, our deficit will soar even higher than the $1.35 trillion deficit that the CBO now states we have. Of course, O is playing by the Democrat Playbook here, as they learned by the Scott Brown Victory, people want to hear about the economy, and not about #2. Of course we all realize that the Big O is going to say its all Bush’s fault.

2. Healthcare. Not to beat a dead horse, that may or may not be dead, but I expect something about healthcare. With all the Big D retirements, its clear after the November elections, there is no hope for this bill. So look for the Big O to push for something watered down to say he accomplished something. However Healthcare Reform is so stigmatized today, that even True Healthcare Reform is going to meet with resistance. A lot of Republicans have good Healthcare Reform plans, but look for the Big O to blame Republicans for not wanting to help ailing and dyring Americans. Can we get another “You Lie” tomorrow?

3. The Banks and Wall street. You know its coming, he is going to blame the people and corporations that make money. The Big O could not possibly be responsible for the recession we are in, so he has to find someone to blame. Hurting people want to blame Big Banks and Wall street brokers and they will believe what O has to say here, and it’s too bad, because people like Barney Frank are directly responsible for deregulating these companies in the first place that got us in the predicament we are in. But of course its Bush’s fault again, according to the Big O.

4. Helping Middle Class. So the Big O says he wants tax credits for the middle class. Of course who doesn’t love tax cuts? Do people realize the Bush tax cuts are actually expiring this year? So when those Bush tax cuts actually expire, those tax credits that the Big O wants to give us wont amount to diddly squat. It’s all double speak. “I will claim credit for cutting taxes while actually raising taxes”. It’s a whole another “I voted for it when I really voted against it”. It’s this type of crap that people are tired of, and people are slowing waking up that you cannot believe a thing this President has to say. While it is true that some people may benefit from an expanded child credit, or requiring companies to set up IRA’s or limiting how much you spend to pay off college loan debts, are these things going to help the whole country recover or generally help the middle class at all? Nope. Of course the Big O can only introduce these things to congress to pass. We all know how effective they are. Expect earmarks buried in this bill, I sure do.

Of course, more things may appear in the Big O’s speech. And he is a gifted orator. However, his lack of experience of being President has really shown this past year and I don’t expect anything of substance to occur tomorrow night. That’s why I am writing about his speech before his speech, because you already know what he is going to say. He is becoming so predictable that when Republicans sweep in the office this November, the Big O will become what he truly already is: a lame duck.

The White House Corps keeps screwing up the message.

Well, kinda.  What’s really screwing up the White House message is the Bureau of Labor Statistics.  According to the government itself, the seasonally-adjusted underemployment rate for December 2009 is 17.3% (the “official” rate – non-seasonally adjusted unemployment rate – is 10%).  As we’ve discussed earlier, the “unexpected” rise in unemployment is only unexpected if you haven’t been paying attention.

And now, we’re being told the old yarn again that the Obama Stimulus has “saved or created” (some in Congressional Districts that don’t exist), depending on which White House media jockey you ask, “Thousands and Thousands”, “1.5 Million”, or “2 million” jobs.

Suggestion for the White House: with an underemployment rate of 17.3%, perhaps you should spend a little more time actually creating jobs (via icky things like letting  businesses keep their money so they can invest it in jobs) and a little less time making up numbers of jobs that don’t actually exist.  Talking doesn’t equal doing.

30th Annual "Outstanding Mother Awards"

Hwuh…  hwuh…  HHWWWOOOOOORRR….

WOOORRRFFFFFFTTTHHHPPPPPTTTT……

(Splat.  Drip, drip, drip…  flush….)

The retching, followed by splattering sounds you’ve just heard are brought to you courtesy of former Senator John Edwards’ reported sex tape.

And, for reference, I’ve included a picture of Mr. Edwards standing next to a woman he’s not having sex with (Mrs. Edwards).

Air America is hanging it up.  Here is a tissue for you.

They already had filed bankrupcy, and have been “rescued” once.

The problem:  They are not able to get anyone or business to advertise.  No one seems to want to be responsible for supporting this garbage.  Hmmmm, is this the growing sentiment in America?

With all the double speak, and Washington rhetoric, I thought I would put my interpreting skills to use to decipher some of the latest and greatest quotes coming form our latest and greatest leader’s.  Yes I am fluent in liberal, so these are extremely accurate translations:

Sen. Barbara Mikulski, D-Md:

 ”Economy, economy, economy”

Translation:  Raising taxes on citizens and businesses, more government control/take over of private companies, re-distribution of wealth and more government programs.

 Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa.

“We need a jobs bill. We need short-term, focused strategies to create jobs, real fast,” “If the dominant message isn’t about jobs and spending, we’ll be making a difficult challenge exponentially more difficult.”

Translation:  We need to spend more money.  We need another stimulus package, with some benefits starting a year or two after we implement the stimulus.  We can use fabricated numbers again and lie about the jobs created, and change our original wording from “jobs created” to “jobs saved”.  Just like we did here.

Obama:

“The same thing that swept Scott Brown into office swept me into office. People are angry, and they’re frustrated. Not just because of what’s happened in the last year or two years, but what’s happened over the last eight years,” Obama told ABC in an interview.

Translation:  The same thing that swept Scott Brown into office swept me into office. People are angry, and they’re frustrated. I should also add that in addition to the anger and frustration, there were plenty of lies I told:   I promised we would be a transparent administration, I would be bipartisan in my efforts, I would leave old Washington politics behind, I will be in charge of an administration that will promote unity.  I must admit that my time as president brought the country even further apart.  This is why I must continue to blame the Bush administration for my failures and broken promises, I am like every other politician, I can not, and will not take responsibility for my failures.  No, I will abdicate it, and blame Bush.  That’s what we do.  Also, let’s be completely honest.  If American Idol wasn’t on now, and Coakley was just a little bit more of an exciting candidate, a lot of the people watching American Idol would have come out to vote for her.  They didn’t feel like they were going to be “a part of something big!”  There was no need for the hippies to be involved in the Massachusetts election.

AxelRod:

“It’s not an option to walk away from a problem that is only going to get worse”

Translation:  We can’t say “ObamaCare is dead, we need to present a front, even if there are plenty of Senator’s and those in the Congress that are running as far as they can from Health Care Reform now.  It doesn’t matter at all that Pelosi says she doesn’t have the votes for it.  Never mind that the majority of the US citizens are against the bill as well, we have never been one to listen to the people, we have an agenda to pass, and that is what is important!

Obama:

In a year of hopping from crisis to crisis, he told ABC News, “we lost some of that sense of speaking directly to the American people about what their core values are and why we have to make sure those institutions are matching up with those values.”

Translation:  In a year of hopping from crisis to crisis, we have talked directly to the American people, in fact we have talked to them more times on national TV than any other President, all with in my first year.  I could really care less about any of the core values of Americans.  Yes, I know that the majority of them dislike Democrats ideas for Health Care Reform, but like my main man AxelRod said in the paragraph above ”we have an agenda to pass.”

Al Fraken:

“one way or the other” a health care reform bill will pass Congress.”

Translation:  Since we have no chance of passing health care in a legitimate and bipartisan fashion, we will do it ”the other way”.  RAM IT DOWN YOUR THROATS AMERICA.  We’ve got three choices. 1)  We can pass the bill quick before Brown is seated, 2) We can approve the senate version of the bill, of course the House would have to vote on this, and that is unlikely to pass, 3)  reconciliation, the nuclear option, we would only need 50 votes for this option.

Sorry Al, You are just blowing smoke.  Very unlikely any of those will be implimented.  Try it.  I hope you are prepared for the anger of the American people.  Which is already burning bright, this will add more fuel for the fire.

I hope the translations have been informative and entertaining for you.  Good night.

There has so much that has gone on in this past week, instead of a long article, I though I would summarize a few things:

1) The Obama tax on Big Banks is bad for us. Yes you heard it from me. These big bad old evil banks, that will be taxed for taking tarp money (note that most have already paid it back with interest) is going to hurt us more than it hurts the banks. Why you ask? Because the banks aren’t going to lose their profit line, they are going to pass that tax on down to us: the consumers. So yet again The Big O has raised taxes on us, by claiming to raise it on the Big old Evil Banks. Prepare to be raped by your bank.

2) The health care bill IS NOT DEAD yet. While The Big O and Harry Reid promise to seat Scott Brown as quickly as possible, this does not prevent Harry Reid by going through with a Nuclear Option Vote which will pass the senate with a 51 vote majority. While the Republicans now technically have enough votes to force a filibuster, those like Olympia Snowe have been tempted to sway over to the Democratic side. Therefore the fight continues for now. Do not for an instant, believe it’s over, because until the bum’s are voted out, it still has a chance to pass.

3) Howard Dean and Barrack Obama have declared the only reason that Scott Brown won in Mass. is because the voters were mad at Bush, and mad at Congress for not being liberal enough. You got it. The Big O say the voters were mad at Bush and thus voted for someone closer to Bush than the opponent Coakley and Howard Dean declares the voters voted for Republican Brown because Congress wasn’t liberal enough. Yep these whack jobs are running and speaking for our country and trying to explain why Scott Brown won. I guess it didn’t have anything to do with cutting taxes, creating jobs, opposing Health Care or Obama’s course of steering the country towards socialism and spending like a drunken sailor.

4) The Supreme Court has ruled that corporations shall not be limited for spending money for or opposing Political Campaigns. This means that free speech is open for all. I think it’s a good thing, because for far too long, corporations have had no say to respond to the demonization that liberalism has attacked them for. Remember corporations create jobs, not Obama. If corporations are taxed heavily enough, they will pick up and leave this country and take the jobs with them. Now Corporations have the ability to challenge the government out in the realm of public perception. I wouldn’t be surprised if Bank’s start to run ad’s targeting Obama tomorrow.

I’m sure more things will come down the line soon, but I felt that these points needed consideration and not be overlooked so we are not lulled into a false sense of security with this government.

Really?!

I'm as shocked as you, Kyle.

January 21, 2010: Jobless claims “unexpectedly” rise.

January 14, 201o: Retail sales drop “unexpectedly”.

December 10, 2009: Jobless claims “unexpectedly” rise.

October 28, 2009: New home sales “unexpectedly tumble.

October 2, 2009: Jobless claims rose “higher than forecast”.

August 20, 2009: Jobless claims “unexpectedly” rise.

June 25, 2009: Jobless claims “unexpectedly” rise.

And now for a flashback:

Newsweek (Feb 5, 2009): GOP says stimulus can’t create jobs.  They’re wrong.

ABC (June 8, 2009): White House claims stimulus will save or create 600,000 jobs in the next 100 days.

B. Hussein Obama (January 22, 2009): I won.

It looks to me like the only ones who are surprised to find the stimulus’ inability to “create” – or even “save” jobs are people who bought into the whole Obamanaut theory to begin with.

Let’s be honest for a minute, folks…  this is bad.  As Ed Morrissey over at HotAir and Glenn Reynolds over at Instapundit are both saying, even if this is from an “administrative accumulation”, it’s still a sign that the economy is far from recovery, and it’s quite possible that December’s retail numbers were much worse than predicted.  The Dow Jones is up, sure…  but not because the economy is strong.  The value of the Dow Jones is up because the value on which the Dow Jones is based is worth less than it was before the recession.  There’s an inverse correlation between the increase in the Dow and the value of the dollar that’s been in place since Bush’s stimulus back in October.

In other words: it’s not a recovery.  Jobs aren’t being created, which means people aren’t buying things, which means that it’s harder for companies to stay open and employ people and pay their bills.

And what is Obama’s response?  It’s the 21st century equivalent of “Let them eat cake”…   “tax them“…  because ,obviously, when people and businesses are having trouble making ends meet, the best idea is to take even more money away from them.

I guess that’s what makes all the economic news so “unexpected”.  It’s the same thing makes Scott Brown’s victory in Massachusetts “shocking”.  It’s a concept that’s best summed up by Adam Savage from “Mythbusters”: they reject reality and substitute their own.

Here’s hoping they’ll be just as shocked and surprised when they get tossed out of Washington on their flabby butts.
