$300 million of your dollars going into a pot, out of which consumers who want to buy a new appliance can get anywhere from $50 to $200, depending on the appliance and efficiency of said appliance. You won’t HAVE to turn in your old appliance (wink wink), but who needs 2 sets of washers and dryers anyway?
The Liberal Methodology to Government Eco-Programs
Step 1. Create program to encourage / require participation in new “eco-friendly” activities.
Step 2. Drastically underfund said program.
Step 3. Skip all of that “eco-friendly” stuff. Cram our landfills full of junked cars and appliances that were working beautifully prior to becoming part of the “eco-friendly” program.
Step 4. ???
Step 5. The planet is saved! We’re not bankrupt! Unicorns exist!
